Deputy Governor Yetunde Onanuga on Thursday assured that the killers of the Iyaloja of Ijebuland, Alhaja Sadia Elewuju, would be hunted down and brought to book.
Mrs Onanuga who described the killing of Elewuju as shocking, said the administration in the state since inception, is committed to the protection of lives and properties.
The Deputy Governor spoke during the funeral ceremony of the slain Iyaloja in her Itorin - Sabo home, Ijebu - Ode, when she led Ogun state government delegations to the burial.
Elewuju, 82, was burried by 4pm at the muslim cemetery at Oke - Erin area of Ijebu - Ode.
Mrs Onanuga who is standing in for Governor Ibikunle Amosun following his travel to Saudi Arabia for Lesser Hajj, expressed the state governmentt's readines to arrest Elewuju's killers.
According to her, the perpetrators of crimes in the state would not go unpunished as security agencies had commenced investigation into the murder of the octogenerian.
She commiserated with the deceased's family, market women and the entire people of Ijebuland, saying the late Iyaloja will be greatly missed.
