The body of a sixteen year old girl has been recovered from a well following a ten day search by local vigilante group in Isselle Azagba, Aniocha North L. G..A.
The victim identified as Blessing Alex hails from Ikoto Town, Ini L.G.A, Cross- Rivers State.
She was an apprentice in a sewing institute in the community
The Nation gathered that the victim was last seen in company of a friend until her remains was found in a wll at Abuedo quarters in the community.
Speculations are rife that the victim may have committed suicide after her parents allegedly compelled her to have an abortion and end her relationship with a boy in the community.
A source who preferred anonymity said, ‘Not too long ago, the victim who was living with her father and step-mother aborted her pregnancy because the family did not allow her to continue her relationship with the boy who impregnated her ever since then, she has not been herself both in composure and behavior until she was found dead in questionable circumstances’.
HRH Obi Francis Jidouwu Ijei 11of Isselle Azagba confirmed the incident saying ‘we are holding a meeting of Izu-Ani in my palace when a report came from the local vigilante informing me and the elders that the missing girl and directed that the matter be reported to the police.’
The victim’s step-mother and her friend have been detained.
