Nigeria music stars win Big at MTV Africa Music Awards 2016

The 2016 MTV Africa Music Awards went down Saturday night at the Ticketpro Dome in Johannesburg hosted by Bonang Matheba.

Nigeria cleaned up. It was a big night for Wizkid in particular. The Starboy walked away with three major awards: Artist of the Year, Best Male, Best Collaboration. Meanwhile, co-host Yemi Alade took home Best Female, while Tekno was named Best Breakthrough Act.

Falana insists arrested judges be suspended, faults NJC

Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), the Human rights lawyer on Monday said the National Judicial Council had the power to place judges under investigation on interim suspension.

Falana said in a statement that the position held by the NJC to the effect that it had no power to suspend judges without first receiving a petition against a judge and investigating it was wrong.

ExxonMobil exits Nigeria's downstream oil sector

ExxonMobil, the world’s largest oil company by market value, has quit Nigeria’s downstream oil sector, divesting its 60 percent stake in Mobil Oil Nigeria (MON).

In a statement on Thursday, the company, with a market value of $460 billion – more than Nigeria’s gross domestic product (GDP) – said it made business sense to quit the downstream oil sector at this time.

Buhari names Mamora, Bugaji, others as non career ambassadors

‎President Muhammadu Buhari has sent the names of 46 persons to the senate for confirmation as non-career ambassadors.

Truck kills Four in Oja Oba Ibadan

A woman and her child were early hour of today killed when a driver lost control of an articulated vehicle at the busy Oja Oba market in Ibadan.

The accident occurred around 8am as traders at the popular market were opening shops while many others were waiting along the Oja Oba/Molete road to board vehicles on their way to work.
